The Commissioning Hierarchy:
The start-up process is governed by a strict hierarchy of testing and sign-offs, often broken down into the following stages:
Mechanical Completion (MC): Sign-off by Construction that the equipment has been physically installed as per drawings. This is the hand-over point to the Commissioning team.
Pre-Commissioning: Static checks, such as loop checks (for instruments), continuity checks (for electrical cables), bolt tensioning, flushing, and pressure/hydrotesting.
Commissioning: Functional testing. This involves introducing power, controls, and ultimately, a non-hydrocarbon medium (like nitrogen or water) to verify dynamic performance (e.g., pump rotation, valve stroking, compressor operation).

Below the supervisory layer, our Technicians (5, 6, 7, 8) are the hands-on execution specialists. They perform the physical tests, troubleshoot faults, and maintain the temporary systems required for the start-up.
Mechanical Technicians (5): Hands-on support for equipment inspection, flange management, final bolt tensioning, and supporting the mechanical completion sign-off process.
Electrical Technicians (6): Executing cable pulling, termination, glanding, and insulation resistance (Megger) testing. Essential support for motor bump tests.
